BEAST OF THE EAST
COLLEGIATE RUGBY TOURNAMENT
APRIL 18-19, 2026
Founded by Providence Rugby Football Club as a fundraiser in 1985, Beast of the East rapidly grew into the largest collegiate rugby tournament in the United States. For 40 years, and with the enduring support of our presenting sponsor, Rugby Imports, PRFC has hosted a full weekend of rugby for 80+ teams, and continues to provide a platform for club teams to show the entire region what they can do.
American Rugby is a grassroots sport, and Beast of the East is committed to growing the game. After the pandemic, the tournament added 7s to the mix to support college sides recovering from the break, and has added a high school and youth competition to further build our community. Beast of the East is hosted every April in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
